"Internationaler Busplaner Nachhaltigkeitspreis 2019"

The e-mobility programme "empoweringMobility" of the Emile Weber group of companies was awarded the Internationaler Busplaner Nachhaltigkeitspreis 2019 on Monday evening in Berlin. This prize, which is awarded to various projects in the field of sustainable mobility, was presented on the eve of the "Bus2Bus" trade fair. This event is seen as recognition for the efforts of recent years to always invest in innovative projects. Furthermore, it is an opportunity to thank all the teams involved as well as the Ministry of Mobility. Without their help, many of the projects in this programme could not have been accomplished.

The “Internationaler Busplaner Nachhaltigkeitspreis” is presented every two years and honours innovative and sustainable projects in the bus sector. All sectors are involved: From electric buses to hydrogen buses, to components and equipment, telematics, services and infrastructures - the award ceremony in more than thirteen categories shows how rich and diverse the mobility sector actually is.

For this fourth edition of the award, Voyages Emile Weber did not submit an application for a single electric bus, but directly for the entire electrification programme "empoweringMobility". The application was able to convince the expert jury, which immediately awarded the initiative first place in the category "eMobility programme".

Voyages Emile Weber was represented that evening by Cyrille Horper from the mobility department. He took the opportunity to thank the teams involved in the programme: "I am thanking our planners who adapt the lines to operate with electric buses, the staff in our workshops who ensure that the electric vehicles can be used on a daily basis, and our drivers who strive to provide a quality service every day. Further thanks go to the Luxembourg Ministry of Mobility and Public Works, without which many projects of the "empoweringMobility" programme would not have come about.
